ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY OF HOTEL VILLA ENRICA
Hotel Villa Enrica renews every day its commitment to offering quality hospitality, attentive to the well-being of its Guests and respectful of the environment.
Aware that hotel activities involve the consumption of natural resources, waste production and the use of energy and water, we adopt an environmental policy focused on sustainability, responsibility and continuous improvement.
Located in the heart of the Aeolian Islands, a unique and environmentally delicate destination, we believe that every daily action can contribute concretely to protecting the landscape and the local resources of the territory.
OUR CONCRETE ACTIONS
To reduce the environmental impact of the property, Hotel Villa Enrica has implemented several solutions focused on energy efficiency, water saving and waste reduction:
- use of electricity from certified renewable energy sources;
- installation of solar panels for hot water production;
- smart automation systems for the efficient management of lighting and air conditioning in the rooms;
- progressive replacement of light bulbs with low-energy consumption models;
- thermal insulation systems and high-efficiency windows to reduce energy dispersion;
- installation of flow reducers on several taps to help limit water consumption;
- separate waste collection for plastic, paper, glass, batteries and other materials through dedicated areas;
- use of RePet bottles to encourage more responsible plastic reuse;
- limited use of chemical products, only in the quantities strictly necessary to guarantee hygiene and safety;
- adoption of refillable dispensers for bathroom amenities, eliminating single-use packaging;
- computerized irrigation systems for a more efficient management of water consumption in green areas.
THE COLLABORATION OF OUR GUESTS
We believe sustainability is a shared commitment. Even small daily actions can make a meaningful contribution to protecting the environment and preserving the Aeolian territory.
For this reason, we kindly ask our Guests to:
- switch off lights and electrical devices when not needed;
- avoid unnecessary water waste and report any leaks to the reception;
- follow the separate waste collection guidelines provided;
- hand expired medicines or used batteries to the reception staff;
- respect the non-smoking policy inside rooms and indoor common areas;
- accept linen and towel changes according to sustainability criteria;
- keep room temperatures within the recommended limits.
Water is an especially valuable resource on islands. The Aeolian Islands are not self-sufficient in terms of water supply and therefore require responsible water management.
For this reason, we invite our Guests to reuse their pool/beach towel during their stay. Should an additional replacement be required, it can be requested at reception with a contribution of € 5.00.
We also kindly ask Guests to respect the separate waste collection rules by using the appropriate containers available in the room:
- Plastic and glass: please leave them on the desk;
- Paper: use the waste bin under the desk;
- Mixed waste: use the bin in the bathroom.
Thank you for contributing every day to the protection of the environment and the enhancement of the Aeolian territory.
CONTINUOUS COMMITMENT
Our environmental commitment is based not only on compliance with current regulations, but also on a constant path of improvement and awareness.
Hotel Villa Enrica is committed to:
- promoting continuous staff training on environmental sustainability topics;
- constantly monitoring energy and water consumption with the aim of progressively reducing them;
- prioritizing local suppliers and sustainability-oriented partners;
- periodically reviewing its environmental programme and evaluating the results achieved.
PRIORITY AREAS ON WHICH WE FOCUS OUR EFFORTS
- improving efficiency in waste collection and management;
- progressively reducing energy and water consumption;
- limiting the use of single-use plastic;
- promoting local resources and the Aeolian territory;
- raising awareness among guests and staff about sustainable tourism practices.
