How to reach us

Hotel Cutimare is located in the village of Acquacalda, on the northern side of the island of Lipari, one of the seven islands of the Aeolian archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

To reach the hotel, you must first arrive on the island of Lipari, which is connected to mainland Italy by fast hydrofoils and ferries departing mainly from the ports of Milazzo, Messina, Palermo, Reggio Calabria and Naples.

Once you arrive at the port of Lipari, the village of Acquacalda is about 15–20 minutes by car.

Airport transfers and connections

By hydrofoil or ferry

The Aeolian Islands are connected to mainland Italy by fast hydrofoils and ferries departing mainly from the ports of Milazzo, Messina, Palermo, Reggio Calabria and Naples.

The port with the most frequent connections is Milazzo, from where numerous hydrofoils and ferries depart daily to Lipari, the main island of the archipelago.

By plane

The most convenient airports for reaching the Aeolian Islands are:

Catania Fontanarossa Airport (CTA)
Palermo Falcone Borsellino Airport (PMO)
Reggio Calabria Airport (REG)

The airport most commonly used to reach the Aeolian Islands is Catania, which is well connected to the port of Milazzo, the main departure point for the islands. From there, Milazzo can be reached by shuttle services, buses or private taxis.

From the airports of Palermo and Reggio Calabria, it is also possible to consider other departure ports such as Palermo, Messina or Reggio Calabria, which offer maritime connections to Lipari and the other islands of the archipelago.

By train

Sicily can be reached by direct trains from major Italian cities such as Rome, Naples, Milan, Turin and Venice.

The most convenient railway stations for continuing to the Aeolian Islands are Milazzo and Messina.

From the train station it is possible to reach the port of Milazzo by taxi or bus. From there, hydrofoils and ferries depart to Lipari and the other islands of the archipelago.

By car

If you are travelling by car, you can reach the port of Milazzo, the main departure point for the Aeolian Islands.

From the port, ferries and hydrofoils depart to Lipari.

Alternatively, it is possible to board your car from the port of Naples, with direct maritime connections to the Aeolian Islands.

During the summer months, traffic restrictions may apply on the island of Lipari for non-residents, so it is advisable to check in advance or consider leaving your car at the port of Milazzo.
