The seaside village of Acquacalda, located in the northern tip of the island, is 5 min by car from Canneto (where one can find all modern amenities) and 15 minutes from the main town Lipari, the commercial center of the Aeolian Islands as well as the main port for all sea transportation. There is a choice of three lovely restaurants where one can dine until Hotel Cutimare opens its own (planned for the 2013 season).
Although not necessary, we suggest one rent a scooter or a car (convertibles available).
One can also use the islandís reliable public transportation run every hour from 7:30 am to 19:30.
