Margherita Lipinska has adorned the hotel’s spaces with artworks paying tribute to the sea and Aeolian culture: murals and paintings depict shells, starfish, boats, and waves highlighting countless shades of blue.
The most enchanting element is the presence of quotes from past travelers who explored and described the Aeolian Islands. Among them is poet Ruccio Carbone from Canneto itself; his verses are displayed on walls or spiral-decorated ceilings.
One notable poem is dedicated to obsidian—the volcanic stone that made Lipari a Mediterranean crossroads in antiquity—adding a touch of poetry and introspection. The verses evoke obsidian as a metaphor for heart and memories: shiny yet deep, hard to hold but impossible to forget.
At Hotel Amarea, art, poetry, and hospitality intertwine to make every stay an authentic and inspiring experience.
